Is 'The Return of the Prodigal Son' Our Story Too?
Henri Nouwen said the favorite of his 40 books was The Return of the Prodigal Son: A Story of Homecoming. In it the internationally renown priest, pastor, professor, and writer meditates on the famous Rembrandt painting of the same name, and examines what Jesus's beloved parable from Luke 15 teaches us about our relationship with our Heavenly Father.
The Anselm Society Book Club will wrap up Return of the Prodigal Son at our Saturday, April 16, 2022, meeting at 6:30 pm. We will finish the final sections on “The Father.” All are welcome, but space is limited.
We will be meeting near downtown Colorado Springs. Please RSVP to anita@anselmsociety.org, and someone will contact you with directions. Bringing a snack to share would be lovely.
The Henri Nouwen Society offers a free study guide for The Return of the Prodigal Son.
As the summer sun begins to set, we'll gather for happy hour and conversation about the art of film before settling in for a screening of Terrence Malick's "The Tree of Life."
Whether you're a longtime pipe smoker or interested in the company, you're welcome to pull up a chair and join us.
