This Summer 2025, the Anselm Society is looking to feature some original poetry. Our Summer Season’s theme is Counted, in light of Ordinary Time in the liturgical church calendar. We believe that our connection to the Great Story grows in the soil of our everyday habitations. Learning how to “number our days” begins with counting the simple moments as important, for it is where God invites us to participate with him.

Our hope is to encourage poetry during this season. We believe that poetry is a beautiful way to help us inhabit our ordinary spaces with imagination.

The Poems: we are looking for short(er) poems to feature during our summer season. Here are some thematic ties to our summer season's theme for creative inspiration:

  • celebration

  • rest / leisure

  • ordinary routine, tasks, people, objects

  • nature

  • dominion vs domination

  • natures in harmony (communion)

  • hierarchy vs. bureaucracy

  • heaven (it's not a cloud in the sky)

  • corporate songs

  • corporate imagination (think campfires tales)

  • redeeming paganism

Poem Submission Deadline: May 10th.

**All submissions will undergo an evaluation process by our soon-to-be announced Poetry Editor and the Anselm Publications team.
