Village Arts of Colorado Springs is a non-profit Christian arts organization established to foster spiritual and artistic growth through involvement in the arts, while reflecting a Christian worldview. WHAT: The Pirates of Penzance, or The Slave of Duty By W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan

Tender-hearted pirates, bumbling British bobbies, giggling girls, and a modern Major General are all caught up in a rollicking adventure, complete with sword fights, love songs, an ingenious paradox, and a young pirate’s undying sense of duty

WHY: After its first two successful runs of Cats in 2014 and West Side Story in 2015, Village Arts of Colorado Springs is ready for its third season of community theatre in Colorado Springs! Village Arts of Colorado Springs invites you to our upcoming fun-filled production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most popular comic opera, “The Pirates of Penzance, or The Slave of Duty.” Written in 1879, this colorful and fast-paced comedy has entertained generations and is still just as hilarious today! For grandparents, kids, and everyone in between, this is the perfect show for audiences of all ages! Benefit: The arts programs at Pikes Peak Academy: A private, alternative high school for struggling students in Colorado Springs that provides a quality education in a faith-based environment.
